The Diamond Springs Rail Yard

The Diamond Springs Yard is the last complete rail yard on the Southern Pacific Placerville Branch.  It was here that the Diamond & Caldor Railway made its interchange with the Southern Pacific from 1903 to 1953.  It is also the end of the line for the Placerville Branch since the rails were torn up in Placerville in 1989 to 1990.
