Other Projects Ongoing

Shay #4 is not our only project.  These are a few of the other projects we are currently working on.

Coach/Caboose Project-Led by Eric Stohl, our West Side & Cherry Valley coach and caboose are both undergoing renovation.  Click here for more information on this project.

"Arnold" Restoration Project-Our only diesel locomotive, Arnold, is currently under restoration.  Much work is needed to get this engine in shape to back up Shay #4.  We are currently looking for a volunteer with welding skills to construct a new sheet metal cab.  If interested, please contact the Museum or visit us in person Saturdays, 8-1.

Diamond & Caldor "Tally Ho" Rail Bus Project-Currently, no work is being done on the Tally Ho.  However, we are looking for a volunteer with automotive experience to overhaul the 6 cylinder gas engine.

Pino Grande Porter #6-Work on this engine is currently limited to preservation of its current condition.  New bumpers for the front and back are on the way for the Porter.

Diamond & Caldor Cabin Car-This car is currently stored on private property.  It is scheduled to be moved in the near future to a location where it can be worked on.  Click here for photos.
